ArrDee launches new brand of Carribean spiced rum with party on Brighton i360
ArrDee has officially launched his new brand of Carribean spiced rum in the i360.
The rapper, real name Riley Davies, hosted a launch party in the Brighton i360 for his drink called Litty Liquor ahead of its launch today.
ArrDee, 20, who grew up in Woodingdean and went to Hove Park School, describes himself as an “avid rum drinker” and has been working on the rum since January.
Around 150 people attended the event on Tuesday night, including boxer Chris Eubank Jr, YouTube and TikTok personalities, his mother and rappers from Brighton.
He told The Argus: “I wanted to make an investment that stayed on brand and is something that I have knowledge about and enjoy.
“All my family are rum drinkers, my mum tested it and all the uncles, sisters and brothers. We all drink rum.
“Litty Liquor was the name that stuck and rolled off the tongue the most. That’s how we started the venture, so many other people were involved from there.”
ArrDee’s rum is produced and bottled by the Cardiff Distillery who he thanked for all its help.
The Caribbean rum, which is called SpicedRum4-Realli, is infused with flavours of caramel and vanilla and will sell for £35 a bottle.
He added: “There is not many UK-based rums, we looked at UK distilleries. We met a lovely bunch of people at Cardiff Distillery.
"They’re really helpful and go the extra mile and do things a distillery doesn’t necessarily have to do for us.
“We gave them the idea and on right off the bat, we had 12 different samples of flavours. We got rid of some of the flavours we knew weren’t going to work.
“We wanted it to be a premium spiced rum. We didn’t want a dark rum where the 18 to 24 university clubbing crowd aren’t going to want a bitter tasting, slow-sipping neat drink.
"We wanted it to be sweet. It took a while to find the balance.
“Big up the distillery, we had them make about 30 different flavours which they sent.
"I had the whole family testing them and other avid rum drinkers.
“We had problems with the colour and the sweetness so it was a bumpy road for a while but we’re there now after almost a year.
“There are loads of people who have been massively helpful. I’m mad excited for this.”
