Bling Empire: New York, the spin-off of Bling Empire which dropped on Netflix today, promises just that. Following a group of stylish and incredibly wealthy Asian-American socialites in New York, this reality show captures each and every drama that can develop in their affluent and luxurious lifestyles.
Okay, so it's got it all. High-end fashion? Check. Beautiful and outrageous cast? Check. Overblown drama that we love to see? Double check. So with all this, will Bling Empire: New York be returning to our screens anytime soon for a second season? Let's look at what we know so far...
Will there be a Bling Empire: New York season 2?
Maybe we should hold our horses (or, in the case of the wealthy cast, Porsches?) on this one, since the first season has only just been released. As it stands, there's been no official announcement on whether there will be a season 2 in the works, so we might be waiting a little while before we get any word on whether we can expect another bling-fuelled trip to New York.
We also have to wait and see just how popular this new series will prove to be with viewers, as this will likely be a big indicator of when and if we will be getting any further instalments.
That said, the show that kicked it all off, Bling Empire, has had three seasons to date, meaning that chances are good that we'll probably be able to dive even deeper into the lives of this particular wealthy Manhattanites.
Who might star in Bling Empire: New York season 2?
The cast of Bling Empire: New York is stacked with socialites and millionaires. The show is led by Dorothy Wang, daughter of billionaire Roger Wang and previous cast member of the Bling Empire original series.
Season one also includes the likes of fashionista Tina Leung, high-ranking jewellery designer Lynn Ban, fashion editor Blake Abbie, millionaire business royalty Stephen and Deborah Hung, and philanthropist Richard Chang.
With a cast this chic, we'd certainly hope to see them all back in season 2!
What might happen in Bling Empire: New York season 2?
As is standard in the reality TV universe, storylines revolve around the everyday dramas and personal developments of the cast they follow.
The official synopsis for the current season of the show is:
"Meet a fresh group of wealthy, sophisticated and hilarious Asian-Americans from New York City, where the quality of real estate is measured by address, not acreage. Conversations are direct, not coded. And competition – for love, for money, and for power – is fierce. Billionaires, CEOs, and fashion icons - it’s a city where you can be anything you want to be."
Odds are that if season two comes around, it will likely follow through the narrative arcs of the newest series, as well as tracking and keeping us updated with any revelations in the lives of the cast between seasons.
When might Bling Empire: New York season 2 be released?
We'll still have to wait for the green light before we can expect news of a release date for season 2. Though given the time it might take to develop and film any new season, we'd probably be looking at a 2024 release, which definitely feels like too long of a wait!
In the meantime, we'll just be here, binging the first season non-stop.
