Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video and Now TV monthly prices after streaming giant confirms increase
Streaming services make up a massive part of our daily lives. Whether it's a family movie night with Disney Plus or a new action thriller with Prime Video, much of our TV viewing in 2025 will consist of online streaming.
But with the cost of living crisis and prices seeming to be on the constant rise, when do we decide that our streaming subscriptions have become too expensive?
According to a study by Cardlytics, only 28 per cent of Brits believe their paid TV subscriptions offer good value for money, while 22 per cent plan to cancel within the year, citing cost as the primary reason.

And with Netflix announcing yet another price increase in some countries, you may start to wonder just how much each streaming service is costing you. Here's the current price of each major UK streaming service, and how by much their prices have gone up.
Netflix
When Netflix first launched in 2012, a subscription cost just £5.99. But by 2024, this had risen to £10.99 a month for the standard package.
Currently, their basic plan with adverts costs £4.99 a month. While the standard plan is almost £11, an extra member can be added to the package for an extra £4.99. Their premium package, which allows streaming on up to four devices at once and 4K HD, costs £17.99.
Disney Plus
This newer service used to offer one plan that cost just £7.99 a month or £79.90 a year if you paid in full. But in 2023, they followed in Netflix's footsteps with tiered plans of varying prices.
A standard package with ads is £4.99 a month, and allows for streaming on two devices at the same time, but with no option to download movies or series.
The standard plan without ads and with the download feature is £7.99, and their premium deal costs £10.99, which comes with 4K UHD and allows you to stream on four devices.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video launched in the UK in 2014, when its price rose from £49 to £79 per year. Prime Video is still included with a general Amazon Prime membership.
While the streaming platform now has ads, it now costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year. Students and 18-22 year-olds can get a discounted membership for £4.49 per month or £47.49 per year.
Now TV
Now TV offers a range of subscriptions for different services. Their Entertainment package which allows users to stream series is £6.99 a month, whereas their cinema subscription for movies is £9.99. The Now TV Sports subscription is the most expensive at £34.99 per month.
If you subscribe to all or most of these services, you could spend hundreds on streaming TV and movies by the end of the year.
