Naomi Watts chooses Dior for her second wedding to Billy Crudup, one year after the first
Naomi Watts has joined the long list of celebrity brides who have opted for more than one wedding dress, although there was a year wait in between her first and second looks.
The actress wore a floor-length ivory gown by Dior Haute Couture for her Mexico City nuptials to Billy Crudup on 8 June. The dress featured a cowl neck, spaghetti straps, short train and skinny belt detail. For her beauty look she kept things elegant and simple, with her hair in a loose half-up, half-down style, and pared-back jewellery.
Last June, 55-year-old Watts wore a sheer lace Oscar de la Renta dress, styling the look with strappy gold Gianvito Rossi heels, an Anita Ko pear diamond choker, a white blazer and cream sunglasses. Keeping things incredibly simple, her bouquet was reportedly from a local deli.
Guests at the wedding included Watts' children with ex-boyfriend Liev Schreiber – Sasha, 16, and Kai, 15 – as well as Crudup's 20-year-old son, William. Schreiber and Watts were together for 11 years, and were engaged, before splitting up in 2016. Watts' eldest, Sasha, walked her down the aisle.
In a video shared on the brother of the bride's Instagram account, Watts can be heard saying in a speech: "This is a reminder of what life's about. The affirmation of love has been one of the simplest things but the most important."
Watts and Crudup met on the set of 2017's Netflix series Gypsy, but kept their relationship secret until stepping out together at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2022. This is Crudup's second marriage. He was married to Mary Louise Parker from 1996-2003, during which time they had their only child, William, together.
Speaking about her wedding last year, Watts' said: "Nothing was planned because we wanted to keep it low-key. We found each other late in life. And it’s really a special thing."
