If recent baby name news is anything to go by, parents take inspiration for their children’s monikers from all sorts of unusual places.

Their favourite TV programme – welcome to the world baby Sansa –politics – they’re loving Jeremy Corbyn, not so much Ivanka Trump, and of course celebrities, who are rather fond of an out-there baby name.

But one couple have taken things to a whole new level after naming their baby after their favourite restaurant.

New parents Justin and Jordan Garton are so fond of a restaurant called Olive Garden, a popular US chain famed for its breadsticks, they once ate there every day for seven weeks straight. Er, ok.

So when they gave birth to their daughter, there was only one choice of moniker that would represent their love of the restaurant… Olivia.

“We spent the first part of our lives loving ‪@olivegarden , now we get to spend the rest of our lives loving Olivia Garton ‪#babyolivia ‪#olivegarden ‪#Italian ‪#italianbaby,” Justin tweeted.

And the Internet were quick to offer their views on the name ode.

Some thought it was a pretty sweet idea.

“This is the best!! Congrats” one user tweeted.

“Sooo @olivegarden this baby gets to eat there free for life since she’s a walking campaign right,” another wrote.

But others weren’t so sure.

“You named a baby after a restaurant?” one Twitter user wrote.

“Way to set up your kid to be bullied for the next 18 years of her life,” another added.

Thankfully their nod to the restaurant didn’t go unnoticed and Olive Garden got in touch to say how chuffed they were with the touching name tribute.

“This made our entire DAY! Can we celebrate baby Olivia a bit early? We want to send a present. Please send us a DM with your email address so that we can reach out!” they wrote.

Justin and Jordan aren’t the only fans of the moniker Olivia. Earlier this year, the name was revealed to be the most popular girls’ name in the UK.

And it isn’t the only time parents have named their babies after something they love either. Back in 2015, a French couple were banned from calling their daughter ‘Nutella’.

The judge decided that it wouldn’t be in the child’s best interest to be named after a chocolate spread.
