These are the stories making headlines in fashion on Tuesday.

Protesters demonstrated in front of the Met Gala
In a Pro-Palestinian and antiwar protest organized by activist group Within Our Lifetime, crowds demonstrated outside of the Met Gala on Monday, where they were met with significant police presence and barricades. The Cut's Danya Issawai points out that the protesters were ironically on theme, as the night's dress code was inspired by J.G. Ballard's short story "The Garden of Time," which is about a count and countess hiding in their wealthy villa attempting to turn back time via their garden's time flowers as a crowd continues to advance towards them. {The Cut}

Retailers drop Youthforia after foundation shade criticism
Credo and Revolve have both dropped Youthforia in the wake of influencer Golloria George's viral video comparing its darkest foundation shade to "minstrel show black" and calling for the shade to be removed from shelves. Ulta Beauty and Credo were the first retailers to carry the full shade range, and while Credo has removed Youthforia from its website and stores, Ulta has yet to confirm its plans. {Beauty Independent}
