One woman’s rivalry with her sister reached new heights after her sibling ‘ruined her special moment’.

The woman took to Mumsnet to vent, saying she hasn’t spoken to her sister since the whole thing went down.

The mum gave birth 17 days ago and her family organised a little get together with aunts, grandparents and cousins, when she came home from hospital.

“My sister picked that moment to tell everyone she’s pregnant,” the woman explained in the post.

“I am so pissed off about it. It was my special moment. I have not talked to her since.”

She went on to say that her sister keeps ringing her every day to ask her why she’s angry and ignoring her.

“She even went to knock on my door, but I ignored it,” the woman continued.

“My mum rang me telling me my sis is sad about the situation, and wants to see me. I am just so annoyed.”

People couldn’t believe the mum was serious, telling her to she’s overreacting and ‘should be overjoyed’ that her child will have a cousin.

“Your baby being born isn’t any less special because of her announcement. She probably thought it would be a good time to announce it as everyone was there. I can see why you may be a little annoyed, and sleep deprivation and hormones can make things seem worse than they are. But unless there’s a back story, it was just an ill timed announcement of some happy news,’ one commenter said.

“I think you are being quite unreasonable. It’s not like she made the announcement on your wedding day – she probably thought it would be a nice little bond between you and that you would be super excited for her,” another person said.

Others sympathised with the mum, saying they can understand her frustration if everyone ignored the newborn and focused on her sister.
