It can be hard to get kids to help around the house at the best of times - but one mum has come up with a genius solution.

Shaketha McGregor has revealed how she makes her children “apply” for jobs so they can earn pocket money.

In a post on Facebook, the clever parent - who runs the blog This Mom Means Business Inc - has revealed how she made job adverts for ‘Kitchen Manager’, ‘Lead Housekeeper’ and ‘Laundry Supervisor’.

Her kids had to fill in application forms for a shot at the jobs, with interviews being held in “mom’s room”.

There was also a poster for “Mom’s Credit Union” which told them: “Let mom start you off with a line of credit to help build your allowance as well as character!

“Making on time contributions around the house can pay off big time.”

Captioning the post, she wrote: “So, my children continue to ask for a new cell phone, an allowance, and to go places.
