A mother and daughter, who were both pregnant at exactly the same time, went on to give birth to baby boys just two weeks apart.

Keesha Warburton, 24, from Atherton, Greater Manchester, found out she was pregnant at the same time as her mum, Melanie Warburton, 44, was also expecting.

After her six-week scan, mum Melanie came home to tell her daughter she was having a baby, just as Keesha had taken a pregnancy test, which revealed she was also pregnant.

During their pregnancies the mum and daughter went to antenatal appointments together, shopped for baby clothes and even shared a joint baby shower.

Melanie, also from Atherton, gave birth to her son, Grayson, four – her third child – via C-section on January 15, 2019 at 4.08pm, weighing 6lbs 7oz, and Keesha was induced two weeks later on January 29.

She had a baby boy, Carter, now four, at 10.55am, weighing 5lbs 4oz.

Although they are officially uncle and nephew, the family say their boys are more like "brothers".

Speaking of the moment the pair found out they were both pregnant, Keesha, a trainee teaching assistant, says: “I came down the stairs with a pregnancy test in my hand and there was my mum with a scan in her hand.

“It was bonkers but amazing to go through pregnancy and giving birth with her.

“She reassured me every step of the way.

“Our two boys get along amazingly with each other."

After getting her tubes untied, Melanie, a stay-at-home mum, had been trying for a baby with her husband William Warburton, 36, Keesha’s stepdad, and found out she was expecting in May 2018.

The following month, she came home to show her daughter her six-week scan pictures, but before she could Keesha broke the news she was pregnant by showing her mother a positive pregnancy test.

Keesha – who has been with partner, Callum Pearson, 23, a stay-at-home dad, for six years – says her mum was a great support during their joint pregnancies.

“I had suffered a stillbirth previously so it was amazing having my mum telling me everything was normal or ok," she explains.

“She’d feel the baby move and then two weeks later I would.

“We went through everything together.”

On January 14 2019, Melanie was taken to Bolton Royal Hospital, Greater Manchester, to have a C-section after she suddenly went into labour three weeks early.

She was able to hold out until January 15 and Keesha was able to hold her baby brother, Grayson, now four, after he was born.

Two weeks later, after being induced, Keesha gave birth to her son, Carter, with her mum as her birthing partner.

“To get a little brother and have my own son at the same time was incredible," Keesha explains.

“A little bit bonkers but just amazing.

"The two boys now get on amazingly."

Just two months after welcoming her son, Keesha, found out she was pregnant with twins and gave birth to Lottie and Louis, now three, in the same room she was born in exactly 21 years previously.

Keesha adds: “It’s been amazing seeing how well Carter and Grayson get along.

“They've experienced every milestone so close together.

“It has been so lovely to see.”

Grayson and Carter are now due to start school together in September.

"It will be lovely," Keesha adds.
