How much is the Celebrity Big Brother house worth?

Famed for its selection of housemates and the controversy that it entails, the famous Elstree compound in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, also comes with an A-list price tag.

Taking influence from the 60s Pop Art movement including leading artists Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, it's filled with bright, bold colours, neon lights, comic book-style imagery and graffiti, all juxtaposed with pastel pink fluffy furniture and metallic soft furnishings.

With 1,285 square metres of interior floor space, integrated AV equipment, bespoke furniture, a hot tub, and tall perimeter walls in the garden, the property is the perfect escape for those wishing to stay private, yet very near to the capital - it's just a 22 minute train journey to London King's Cross station.

In fact, it's the quirky designs and custom-made features that actually boost the value of the property – if they suit the tastes of potential buyers, of course.

Decor aside, the house itself appears to be an unobtainable dream for its current residents, as according to Urban.co.uk's market value of the Big Brother House, not one of this year's housemates would even be able to afford it, if it were to ever be released onto the open market.

Analysing the cost of properties listed for sale in the area based on price per square metre alongside property plans from Hertsmere Borough Council, Urban.co.uk estimates the house's current market worth to be a whopping £6,843,910 - and that's without the celebrity status and its wow factor features.

The online estate agency note that current housemates, former X Factor contestants Jedward, actually have the closest chance of buying a similar property with their estimated combined net worth of £6.5million.

Adam Male, co-founder of Urban.co.uk, says: 'If a real property like the Big Brother house were to be released onto the open market, we would anticipate it would be snapped up straight away. Mind you, anything with a celebrity endorsement always carries a higher price tag, and anything with this level of celebrity history is almost priceless.'
