Mrs Hinch fans shared their top tip for getting rid of stubborn toilet bowl limescale and stains, recommending a cleaner that costs less than £2. These stains can be caused by bacteria, mineral deposits, or coloured toilet blocks, and if not cleaned, often leave unsightly marks at the base or around the rim of your toilet bowl.

Thankfully, fans of cleaning expert Mrs Hinch have taken to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page to advise a fellow user on how to remove these frustrating marks with their cheap hack. Posting on the Facebook page alongside an image of a stain-streaked toilet bowl, one troubled homeowner asked: "Please does anyone have any advice for cleaning my toilet? Just bought a house and the toilet bowl has yellow and black stains in it. Any ideas please?"

One person advised: "The stain will go away but it needs a good soak with Harpic," and another suggested: "Harpic Black Spray - leave for an hour or so and it will be white and clean."

Described by a customer as "the best toilet cleaner I have ever found," Black Harpic Plus costs less than £2 and is available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Poundland.

Some people have mentioned that it has a "strong smell", so it's a good idea to open a window in the bathroom after using it on the toilet bowl.
