The comedian arrived at Jonathon Ross’ 2017 Halloween bash dressed as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. People were outraged at Walliams’ Asian eyelid modification and apparent ‘yellowface’.

The most controversial celebrity Halloween costumes

Halloween is a time where cultural appropriation and other general offensiveness flourishes. You’d think that celebrities would be all too aware of the controversy their close-to-the-mark costumes could cause, but a lot still do it anyway.

Actress and dancer Julianne Hough has to be the worst offender. In 2013, she went full blackface to dress up as ‘Orange Is the New Black”s Crazy Eyes, earning herself a shedload of criticism.

Unfortunately, she’s not the only one.

Heidi Klum upset the Hindu community in 2008 after transforming into goddess Kali while both Chrissy Teigen and Paris Hilton offended with their sexed-up American Indian costumes.
