Former This Morning star Dr Ranj Singh has shared an exciting career announcement, revealing that his next role is an “absolute dream come true”.

Dr Ranj, 44, who looked sensational at the Gaydio Pride Awards earlier this year, has revealed that he is set to take to the stage in the musical & Juliet as part of its upcoming UK and Ireland tour, where he will play the role of Lance.

“I am absolutely overjoyed to be making my musical theatre debut in & Juliet, a show I've been a fan of since it first opened,” he said as he announced the incredible news.

“I know it’s a bit of a change from my usual work but not many people will know how hard I've been working behind the scenes to make this happen and it's an absolute dream come true.”

He added: “I can't wait to work with the incredible Luke Sheppard [Director] and the entire creative team and have the time of my life this year, showing the UK what I'm made of alongside an exceptionally talented and diverse cast. Bring it on!”

Kicking off at Manchester Opera House on Monday, 8 July, the show will head to cities including Edinburgh, Liverpool and Birmingham before closing in Cardiff in June 2025. However, for those wanting to see Dr Ranj in action, the TV personality will only be on the tour until October 2024.

Besides Dr Ranj, former X Factor winner Matt Cardle will also be appearing in the show, as well as stars including Gerardine Sacdalan, Sandra Marvin and Jack Danson.

While he may be known for his medical expertise, this isn’t the first time that Dr Ranj has taken to the dancefloor and in 2018 he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing where he was partnered with Janette Manrara.

Janette and Dr Ranj have maintained their friendship over the years and in April, Dr Ranj and BBC Morning Live co-star Gethin Jones paid a visit to Janette and husband Aljaz Skorjanec as well as their baby daughter Lyra.

Sharing a snap of himself and Dr Ranj with baby Lyra, Gethin wrote: “Just to say, @drranj and I haven't adopted. Met up with little Lyra, who's an absolute angel!!! Unsurprisingly she loves a little twirl, well you would if your parents were @jmanrara and @aljazskorjanec,” followed by dancing and red heart emojis.

In response to the adorable picture, fans gushed over the snap. “Lyra is beautiful. You look good with a baby,” wrote one. “I think you’ll have a difficult job trying to get her out of the house without her parents realising,” another added.
