BBC Morning Live's Gethin Jones shares 'baby news' as he praises 'little angel'

BBC Morning Live stars Gethin Jones and Dr Ranj Singh recently paid a visit to their pals Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec, the former stars of Strictly Come Dancing, who are now embracing the joys of parenthood after welcoming their adorable baby girl, Lyra.

Taking to Instagram to share a glimpse of the precious moment, Gethin playfully quipped: "Just to say, @drranj and I haven't adopted. Met up with little Lyra, who's an absolute angel!!! Unsurprisingly she loves a little twirl, well you would if your parents were @jmanrara and @aljazskorjanec," accompanied by dancing and red heart emojis.

Fans in the comments joined in the fun, with one penning: “Get Xand and film a modern-day version of Three Men and Baby and make me happy.”

Another chimed in: “Lyra is beautiful. You look good with a baby.” A third joked: “I think you’ll have a difficult job trying to get her out of the house without her parents realising.”

The visit comes as no surprise, considering Gethin's close ties with Janette, who frequently joins him on the set of Morning Live.

The journey to parenthood for Janette and Aljaz hasn’t been without bumps in the road. Last year, the beloved couple joyfully announced the arrival of their precious bundle of joy, Lyra Rose Skorjanec, with a heart-melting Instagram post, captioned: "Lyra Rose Skorjanec July 28, 2023," alongside a rose emoji.

The couple announced they were expecting in February after they found out Janette was pregnant in early December. Janette shared with Hello! magazine the emotional rollercoaster of their fertility journey, revealing that their decision to pursue IVF coincided with her miraculous pregnancy discovery just as they were about to embark on the treatment.

Aljaz recently told Hello!: "Every single day is a pinch-yourself moment. Of course, it's very demanding, but the beautiful moments make all the sleepless nights worth it, like when I see her happy and smiling and I'm looking at her with such excitement and anticipation to see what she's going to do next."

In another interview, he even shared he was thinking about the possibility of a second child, adding: "I'm really looking forward to the future and already thinking about our second child.

"Janette is still recovering, but I'm planning to keep the bottles, just in case."

The professional dancers first met in 2010 during a show called Burn The Floor in London. Janette, who now hosts It Takes Two, didn't feel love at first sight, but Aljaz knew they had a connection right away and was determined to make it work.

After falling in love quickly, Janette and Aljaz got married in 2017. They had three big weddings in London, Miami, and Slovenia, Aljaz's home country.
