This Morning star hits back at trolls as she’s slammed for moving on from cheating ex after showing off 'date outfit'
This Morning star Michelle Elman has hit back at trolls who judged her for 'moving on' just days after revealing that her ex was cheating on her.
The body confidence coach, who regularly appears on the ITV morning show to give advice, revealed she had split from her fiancé after she found out he was being unfaithful.
Michelle told followers how they had only been engaged for one day, after a woman messaged on social media to claim he'd been having an affair with her.
The TV personality later addressed her split on This Morning as she was flooded with support from her fellow TV stars and followers. Michelle also opened up to OK! about how she and her ex had been trying for a baby.
The author hit back at trolls, writing in the caption: "For anyone who thinks it’s too soon, my ex didn’t even wait to be single to do this… THAT is the definition of too soon."
Michelle added that going on the date was a great distraction from everything she had been going through, adding: "I thanked him because for a whole afternoon I didn't think about any of it and I really needed that.
"I'm not going to be ready to date seriously for a while, but it's nice to get to know new people and just being open with your heart. He can't take that away from me."
She also revealed to fans that she had warned her new love interest that she isn't looking for anything serious, as she shared a WhatsApp conversation showing they were both on the same page.
The star had messaged them: "I'm looking for something casual. Totally get if that's not your thing, just don't want to send the wrong message or mislead anyone," as her date responded "Thanks for the clear communication."
In her original break-up post, Michelle shared that she'd been contacted by her fiancé's affair partner on Instagram after the other woman realised they were in a relationship with the same man. Michelle described her as a "lovely woman", and said she had no idea the man she was dating was already in a relationship.
"The main thing people say with cheating is 'did you know' and obviously not because I said yes to marrying him... If someone wants to actively deceive you they will," she said. "When it comes to life coaches there's this illusion that we're perfect, that we're all knowing or we have our lives together, that's not true, I've always said we are five steps ahead and that's how we are able to teach people."
