This Morning's Sharon Marshall has welcomed her baby, with colleagues Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announcing the happy news today (10 July).

The 46-year-old 'Soap Queen' gave birth to a baby girl yesterday afternoon (9 July) – and she and her partner, Paul, have chosen an adorable name for their little one...

Speaking at the start of the show this morning, Phil revealed: 'We have a new member of the This Morning family!'

Holly continued: 'Yes, just a week ago to the day, in fact, our "Soap Queen" Sharon Marshall was right here before she headed off on maternity leave, and she did not hang about.

'Betsey Fletcher came into the world at 1pm yesterday – and according to her parents, she is absolutely perfect in every way!'

A touching photograph of Sharon and Paul with baby Betsey at the hospital then flashed up on screen.

Holly continued: And look at that photograph of all of them… A little family for the very first time.'

A smiling Phil went on: 'Sharon and her partner, Paul, would like to thank the amazing NHS staff at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital for their wonderful care throughout her pregnancy.

'Huge congratulations to you all, she is beautiful!'

Holly then added: 'She really is, well done, well done!'

Unsurprisingly, fans were quick to congratulate the TV presenter and her partner on Twitter.

'Aww congratulations and what a gorgeous name,' said one fan, while another added: 'Congratulations, love her name.'

A third added: 'Best news congratulations, she’s beautiful and beautiful name. Take it easy.'

Huge congratulations, Sharon and Paul!
