Michael B. Jordan Says He Would Work With Jonathan Majors Again
NEARLY TWO YEARS after the release of Creed III, the film's titular star (and director) Michael B. Jordan is opening up about his relationship with embattled co-star Jonathan Majors, who was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in late 2023 and fired from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a result.
Jordan said it was a "tough situation" in a new GQ cover story, before elaborating.
“He’s doing great, just got engaged," he says. "I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”
The magazine then asked if he would consider working with Majors again, and he replied with a resilient answer: "Yes. Yes."
Both men are preparing for the release of new projects. Jordan's fourth collaboration with writer/director Ryan Coogler (who was behind Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther), the supernatural historical thriller Sinners, will hit theatres in April (US), while Majors's film Magazine Dreams, a buzzy Sundance pick back in 2023 about a psychotic bodybuilder obsessed with achieving fame, will finally receive a limited release via Briarcliff Entertainment in late March after being shelved and eventually dropped by Searchlight Pictures.
Prior to his March 2023 arrest, Majors was seen as an ascending talent in the industry. In addition to Creed III, he was also set to appear across several Marvel Cinematic Universe projects as Kang the Conqueror, the franchise's next major overarching villain. He wound up only showing up in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki before the studio reworked its efforts around different storylines.
