ICYMI, the Trumps are in town.

The President of the United States and his wife, Melania Trump, flew into London Stansted Airport last night, before heading out for an evening at Blenheim Palace with Theresa May.

This morning, Trump is heading off to Chequers, where he and the PM will face off on a “range of foreign policy issues.” Melania, instead, is visiting Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Accompanied by Theresa May’s husband Philip, the 48-year-old is meeting British Army veterans, known as Chelsea Pensioners, at the historic building in London.

The engagement is giving the British public a chance to see Melania’s softer side. Known for her somewhat icy exterior, photos of the First Lady show her pulling a comical facial expression during a game of lawn bowls and smiling with school children.

For the occasion, the First Lady has donned a striking look; an orange, beige, navy and burgundy stripe midi dress.

It’s a diplomatic move – the dress is by legendary British designer, and former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham.

It’s unknown whether the designer ‘dressed’ Melania for the engagement or if Melania’s team simply bought the dress without Victoria’s knowledge.

Either way, VB’s already facing some abuse for the sartorial move.

“Please tell me you didn’t style or dress this Slovenian t***y model? You know your country and mine hate her, right?,” one person tweeted to Victoria Beckham.

Victoria herself wore a similar dress, featuring the same colours, to Wimbledon back in 2014.

While Melania’s dress is no longer available, you can shop a similar style that’s currently on sale for £977 (originally £1,396).

Later today, Melania, along with the President, will travel to Windsor Castle for a meeting with the Queen.

The couple will have tea with Her Majesty.
