Meghan Markle effortlessly chic in fourth shirt dress, proving her love for the style

Today, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry kick-started their final day of royal tour engagements at the Tembisa township near Johannesburg, South Africa.

The couple arrived, hand-in-hand, at the Youth Employment Services Hub, created by President Ramaphosa in 2018 to help tackle unemployment in young people in South Africa.

For the engagement, Meghan opted to wear a shirt dress - the fourth she’s worn on this tour alone.

Today’s number was a minimalist, cream affair, complete with rolled-up sleeves and a slim, matching waist belt. It was from a local sustainable South African womenswear brand, Hannah Lavery.

The dress was paired with £295 nude court shoes by Stuart Weitzman and £18 red tassel earrings from American brand, Madewell.

A beaded bracelet, given to her yesterday from her private school visit with girls from The Teddy Bear Clinic, completed the look.

The belted dress look has been Meghan’s go-to silhouette throughout the tour - and it’s easy to see why. The workwear-friendly style is ideal for a royal to wear during a formal engagement. It’s smart, without being too stuffy, and fairly cool - ideal in the South African heat.

On day one of the tour, the Duchess rewore a bold blue shirt dress by US label, Veronica Beard. She debuted the look in 2018, while pregnant with Archie, on a visit to Tonga.

On day two, Meghan wore a £260 maxi dress by US brand, Staud, to visit Auwal Mosque in Bo Kaap. The floor-sweeping number featured short sleeves and a full skirt.

On Tuesday, the mum-of-one wore another shirt dress: a green, knee-length dress by eco-friendly brand, Room 502.

US First Lady Melania Trump and former US First Lady Michelle Obama are both fans of the trend, as is Meghan’s sister-in-law: the Duchess of Cambridge.

Later today, Meghan and Harry will attend an afternoon reception to celebrate the UK and South Africa’s business relationship before having an audience with President Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife.

The couple will then be reunited with baby Archie to fly back to London this evening.
