After Meghan Markle stepped out wearing a sleeveless yellow dress by Brandon Maxwell to a royal event last week, we thought it was impossible for the Californian beauty to trump her summer fashion look.

Oh, but how wrong we were.

Attending Prince Louis' christening this afternoon at The Chapel Royal, St James' Palace with her husband Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex looked stunning in a dark olive green Ralph Lauren dress.

Arriving at the venue with her beau, the newlywed sported the dreamy dress with a belt around the waist, matching suede heels, and a hat by Stephen Jones.

Meghan's christening outfit couldn't be more different to her look at last week's Commonwealth Youth event where she accessorised the yellow dress with her signature low messy bun, nude heels and diamond earrings by Adina Reyter.

The colour of the duchess' dress is somewhat of a departure from royal outfits she's worn in recent weeks which have noticeably been chosen from a nude palette.

Fashion consultant Lucas Armitage explained the choice of nude tones to the Daily Mail last month, saying it's a choreographed choice to 'show of respect' for Her Majesty.

'Meghan has opted for a neutral colour once again. I feel this is a clever styling tactic as it will always work with the Queen's look; she is known and applauded for her use of bright fun colours,' Armitage told Daily Mail.

Meghan's latest look will be attended to her royal wardrobe which is already estimated to be worth over £750,000.

We couldn't love Meghan's christening look more!
