The Duchess of Sussex flew back to London on Wednesday night, following her baby shower celebrations with celebrity friends in New York.

The duchess, 37, travelled to and from the US on a private jet, which reportedly costs around £100,000 each way and was paid for by her friend Amal Clooney, according to the Mail Online.

Meghan is believed to have travelled home on the Gulfstream G450 plane and landed at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire on Thursday morning.

Barrister Amal, 41, co-hosted Meghan’s baby shower at The Mark Hotel on Wednesday with Serena Williams.

Amal and Meghan are said to have been introduced by a mutual friend and the human rights lawyer has reportedly helped the former actress settle into London life.

Last week her husband George Clooney spoke out in defence of friend Meghan, saying she has been “pursued and vilified,” and compared the treatment of the duchess to Princess Diana.

Meghan was spotted leaving her hotel in the Upper East Side, wearing a stylish athleisure outfit for her flight.

The duchess, who is around seven months pregnant, wrapped up as she departed New York in a camel coat, a £70 Ingrid & Isabel active zip maternity jacket and Lulemon tights.

The mum-to-be swapped her heels for a pair of comfy Adidas Ultraboost trainers and wore a baseball cap over her brunette locks with the word ‘Rectify’ across it.

While some believe there was a cryptic message behind the accessory, it’s actually a promotional hat from Meghan’s friend Abigail Spencer’s show ‘Rectify.’

The  American TV drama series, which ran from 2013 – 2016, explored the life of a man after he is released from prison after nearly 20 years on death row following a wrongful conviction.

Abigail played Amantha Holden (the man’s younger sister) who always believed his innocence.

She and Meghan starred in US legal drama Suits together and were spotted heading out to lunch together on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s baby shower.

The duchess is believed to have spent around five days in New York catching up with some of her closest friends, including Jessica Mulroney, Serena Williams and Amal Clooney.

Her pals hosted her lavish baby shower at the The Markreportedly in the £60,000 per night Penthouse Suite.

Take a look back at Meghan’s 2019 style:

The day before the bash, a team of florists were pictured delivering bouquets of pink roses, and orange and yellow tulips, as well as an orange tree to the venue.

Also delivered was a large box from modern, chic and eco-friendly nursery furniture brand Babyletto.

Meghan’s make-up artist Daniel Martin also shared a photo of the iced biscuits guests were given at the party.

According to BAZAAR.com the NYC baby shower is the first of two. A smaller gathering has apparently been scheduled for friends in the UK after Meghan returns from her trip to Morocco this weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will fly to Morocco on Saturday for a three-day visit, at the request of the UK Government.
