Meghan Markle dresses down in denim jacket for second day of South Africa royal tour

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex both dressed down for their second day in South Africa.

The couple spent the morning at Monwabisi Beach to visit Waves For Change, which helps vulnerable children through the power of surfing. As part of the visit, the royals also visited the Lunchbox Fund, which provides daily meals to orphaned and vulnerable school children. Plus, the Commonwealth Litter Project, which supports developing countries in the Commonwealth to take action against ocean pollution.

For their morning engagements both Harry and Meghan wore relaxed ensembles - looks that are far more relatable, and easy to replicate, than the majority of outfits they usually sport.

Harry sported a bottle green shirt, chinos and Adidas trainers, while Meghan wore black jeans, a white shirt and a dark wash denim jacket.

Zoom in on the buttons on the jacket and you’ll see it’s from Madewell: an American brand that the 38-year-old’s sported previously.

Meghan was most recently seen in a panama hat by the brand at Wimbledon in July 2019. The £55 hat is one of Meghan’s go to summer accessories, first seen on the former actress in 2017, when she was on holiday with Prince Harry in Jamaica.

It’s also not the first time Meghan’s worn the jacket: the £111 outerwear piece was first debuted by the royal back while out and about in April 2017.

Despite being a few years old, it is still available to buy.

Many fans were quick to gush about Meghan’s dressed-down ensemble, calling the look “stunning” and “amazing” on social media.

One Twitter user also noted that Meghan had taken note from Queer Eye’s fashion expert, Tan France, with her half tucked in shirt, otherwise known as the French tuck.

Meghan accessorised with flat, tan shoes by sustainable African brand Brother Vellies (no longer still available to buy) and an oversized tote bag.

A pair of black sunglasses - which look to be from Australian label Le Specs - completed the look.

Meghan kept her hair and make-up natural, reverting back to her trademark messy bun, which she regularly sported during her first few months as a member of the royal family.

Later today Harry will make a solo visit to the South African Police Service and Royal Marines. Meghan will then join Harry for a visit to the Auwal Mosque and attend Heritage Day celebrations.

This evening, the pair will likely don their glad rags for a reception for young future leaders at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Cape Town.
