'Meghan and Harry's royal baby photo could be most liked Instagram post of all time'

Meghan and Harry are just days away from welcoming their first child.

While details around the birth will be kept private, Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

The couple set up their own Instagram account last month, which already has over 5 million followers.

While it’s understood that photos will be released within a few days of the baby’s arrival, it’s likely that the new parents will share photos of their little one on their @SussexRoyal page.

Since its launch, Meghan and Harry have been updating their followers on their engagements and work, including announcements about upcoming projects like Harry’s mental health series with Oprah Winfrey and thanking well-wishers for their charity donations in honour of their baby.

Press Association reporter Catherine Wylie tells Yahoo UK’s ‘The Royal Box’: “I definitely think we can expect an announcement on that Instagram account and also probably a picture of the baby to be posted there at some stage, shortly after the photocall or maybe photos from that official photocall.”

She adds: “I would say that this photo could well be in the running to be [the most liked photo].”
