The Masked Singer's Giant Joel Dommett costume unmasked as sporting legend
Sir Mo Farah has been unmasked as the celebrity behind The Masked Singer's Joel Dommett costume. The Olympian, who performed Lionel Richie’s Hello in a costume resembling Joel, revealed his identity on Saturday's episode of the ITV1 show. Jonathan Ross correctly identified Sir Mo, who then joined the judging panel for the rest of the show. "It’s been incredible", said the 41-year-old athlete.
Davina McCall and Maya Jama had incorrectly guessed that Ant and Dec were the "Giant Joel". At the end of the episode, the character dressed as spaghetti bolognaise was voted off, but their identity will be revealed in Sunday’s episode. The panel also speculated that Ruby Wax, Julia Bradbury, Emma Raducanu or Anita Rani could be behind the mask.
Speaking on ITVX and YouTube spin-off series The After Mask, Sir Mo said: "I’m used to running around stadiums, this is a different audience.

"It’s being able to have fun and honestly it’s amazing to have the team encouraging you. I can’t sing, I can’t dance, but it’s the taking part."
He also confessed that he hadn't told his children about his participation, saying: "One thing they asked me, ‘Dad you can’t dance, you can’t sing, please don’t embarrass us’."
One of the hints was a Bafta, which Sir Mo bagged for a documentary where he revealed his illegal trafficking to the UK as a child. He's known as Britain’s top distance runner, with double Olympic victories over 5,000m and 10,000m in both London and Rio.
Host Joel expressed his desire to "keep the head", dubbing it the "narcissist’s dream". He explained that the celebs can’t keep their costumes because they're lent to different territories globally, but he joked that no one would want Giant Joel as he's not internationally known.
He said: "So I assume I can keep it, and I said to my wife (Hannah Cooper), ‘oh my god look at this’, and I showed her a photo of it and immediately she messaged back saying, ‘that’s not staying in the house’."
The Masked Singer continues on Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player. The full interview is available to view on The After Mask on ITVX and YouTube: The Masked Singer UK.
