M&S' leopard print dress has major designer vibesM&S

Leopard print is dominating the fashion world at the moment, taking over the runways and being championed by the street style set as the ideal way to add a cool, playful touch to any outfit (or, indeed, become the outfit!). Though particularly popular this season, its timeless nature – everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Kate Moss has loved it through the decades – makes it a trend that we can really get behind and justify investing in. Especially as our fashion editor Jodie has tipped it to be big for autumn/winter too.

So, I've been constantly on the lookout for great leopard print clothes and accessories to add to my rotation, and my latest find comes courtesy of good old M&S (yes, again – they're killing it right now).

Dropping along with the first cohort of new pieces designed for you to buy now and wear as the seasons transition, the £39.50 leopard print midaxi dress has gone straight into my basket. Why? Because it's a classic that's so easy to style – literally just mix up your shoes, add some jewellery and you're done. But also because it's giving me major designer vibes by reminding me of the iconic style by Danish cool-girl brand Ganni.

Ganni's leopard print dress is cut to a mini length with puff sleeves, while M&S' take falls to just above the ankles and features three-quarter sleeves, but what both pieces have in common is their fun tie-front detailing that taps into the ongoing bow trend.

I'll be wearing my new M&S dress with the buckle flats that also have that Ganni aesthetic (it's one of my favourite brands, what can I say?), before swapping them for my beloved Grenson Nanette lace-up boots during the colder months. Fashion influencer Charlotte Leaman, meanwhile, is teaming hers with black loafers, fun socks and zingy green accessories.

Love leopard print? Other brands that have been nailing it with great quality buys you'll love for years include Damson Madder (their tie-front gilet is constantly out of stock, as is the ruched kidney bag I finally got my hands on last month); RIXO; Balzac Paris and Sezane. But no-one does it quite like Ganni.
