Marks & Spencer has added a ‘Love Sausage’ to its Valentine Day food line-up this year, and people can’t take the innuendo.

The new offering was announced earlier today on Twitter, in a post from the supermarket giants.

The Marks and Spencer ‘Love Sausage’, as it has been marketed, comes wrapped in bacon and in a heart formation – perfect for serving eggs in the middle of.

It is available in-store from tomorrow, 8 February, for those who are looking to make a head start on their Valentine’s themed breakfasts.

Social media users had a field day in response to the irreverent marketing.

Marks and Spencer isn’t the only food company jumping in on the Valentine’s Day bandwagon.

Aunt Bessie’s is also marking the most romantic day of the year with special edition heart-shaped Yorkshire puddings, according to Metro. The puddings come in a pack of six and retail at £1.50.
