Margot Robbie’s Barbie pink Golden Globes dress took over 750 hours to make
After a short hiatus from wearing her beloved Chanel, Margot Robbie is back wearing her favourite designer at this year’s Golden Globes.
The bespoke pastel pink gown, featuring a halter neckline and fishtail skirt and made of chantilly lace and silk tulle also boasted sequins, bugle beads and scattered feathers. It was no easy feat and took over 750 hours to make, British Vogue reports.
That's just shy of 94 days of work - and 25% of the year - if we assume the dressmakers worked eight-hour days.

Robbie, 32, kept her accessories within the Chanel family too, wearing gold and diamond earrings, a brooch and a ring all from the iconic French fashion house.
The Barbie actor wore her long dark blonde hair in loose waves, and kept her makeup simple with touches of pink on her lips and cheeks.
“It was exciting working with Chanel to make this custom look,” Robbie’s stylist Katie Young told Vogue, adding that the look has been months in the making after Robbie and Young met the Chanel team in September while on a photoshoot.
However, some fans weren’t too pleased with the star’s designer of choice. Robbie has been an ambassador of Chanel since 2018 and has worn looks from the designer on several red carpets since.

In 2022, fans suspected the actor had been “freed” of her Chanel contract after she was spotted wearing designers like Alaïa and Bottega Veneta later in the year.
“I thought Margot Robbie was out of Chanel. Why do they continue to do this to her?!?” one Twitter user, @karlafe36, said.
“Margot Robbie CANNOT wear Chanel for the Barbie press tour,” @yjeanwrites added.

“Bit of a jumpscare from Margot Robbie wearing custom Chanel,” @dolls4prada wrote.
Not all of Robbie’s fans were against the look, however, with Twitter user @EmmiCamille writing: “Remember when everyone was saying Margot Robbie has been looking so much better now that she was done with Chanel? Yeah, they can all eat it. Her Golden Globes gown is perfection.”
Robbie’s dress isn’t the only Golden Globes look to see a divided reaction from fans on this year’s red carpet - style commentators have also weighed in on Heidi Klum’s sequin and feather-covered Germanier mini dress.
While some called the sustainable and upcycled dress “perfection”, others said the dress was “terrible” and only constituted as “Halloween fashion”.
