In a post on Reddit's "Am I the A------" forum, the man wrote that his friends recently mentioned they wanted to get together, so they planned to do so the following week.
When the day of the planned outing came, the Redditor said he texted his pals to "confirm" if they were still on and to determine "where we were going," but the friends "couldn't agree" on what to do.
So, when an offer came up from the man's girlfriend to go out with her and her family, he decided to pursue that instead. But, "two hours later," the man wrote that his "friends finally agreed on a restaurant," though he told them he would not be joining, as he had agreed to the other, more set plans.
The man said his decision prompted his friends to get "mad" at him, and they even told him to "ditch" his girlfriend and her loved ones, which he said he refused to do.

"Sounds like you were looking for a reason to ditch them and took the first out you could," one user wrote, as another said, "Indecisive friends can be annoying, but you still had committed to going out with them."
"The point is to spend time with them. If they haven't decided on where to go yet in the morning, I can see how that's annoying, but committing to see your friends and then bailing makes you seem like the flakey one," added a different Reddit user.

Others, meanwhile, sided with the man and understood his frustration with his friends not having plans set in stone.
"Your friends couldn't get their act together, so you bailed and accepted another offer; that's perfectly acceptable," wrote one person, while another said, "They had plenty of time to decide before the day arrived. You can't be expected to be on call for them."
