Man ridiculed over sharing wife’s ‘crappy’ wait at restaurant
A Twitter user was widely criticized for sharing his wife’s recent experience at a Texas restaurant.
In a now-deleted post, Jason Vicknair, who goes by @Jsv4 on the social media platform, recalled how he took his wife on a date at Tex-Mex restaurant Mi Cocina in Allen following three months of quarantine. Things, however, apparently took a turn when Vicknair’s wife asked for extra cheese for her fajita.
“My wife, date night after 3+ months locked up on quarantine,” he wrote. “Waiting for shredded cheese as it’s the only way she can eat fajitas. We’ve asked 4 people, going on 18 minutes now. Just unreal at Allen, TX location. We gotta quit blaming #COVID19 for crappy service.”

Along with the tweet, Vicknair included a photo of his wife, who is seen leaning her head against the wall with a look of despair on her face.
The post, however, didn’t get Vicknair and his wife the sympathy he had hoped — in fact, Twitter users ridiculed him for complaining about something so seemingly trivial amid a global pandemic. Though Vicknair eventually deleted the tweet following backlash, the criticism continued.

"Too late :) it’s out there now!" one person tweeted in response. "Why have patrons gotten so rude as workers risk their lives to make our life easier? His wife looks pathetic waiting I’d be pissed at my husband for embarrassing me!"
“I never blamed Covid for crappy service,” another wrote. “I would accept I wasn’t going to get a good tip from someone this petty and let her suffer from a severe cheese deficiency.”
A third person accurately captured the absurdity of the post by comparing the picture of Vicknair’s wife to an iconic photo.
“The faces of national tragedy: ‘Migrant Mother,’ 1936 (by Dorothea Lange, FSA) and ‘But I Had To Wait For My Shredded Cheese,’ 2020,” photographer David Poller wrote.

There is no word as to whether Vicknair’s wife ever got the shredded cheese, but one thing is for sure: Vicknair’s tweet is solid proof that first-world problems (insert a huge eye roll here) actually exist.
