'I’m a half-marathon running PT and these are the On trainer suggestions I recommend for all skill levels'

The best On trainers that are PT approved Issy Shury, On

If there's one thing I know, it's trainers. Not only do I side hustle as an F45 PT – and I will whip you into shape quick smart – but I'm also a half-marathon runner and a HYROX competitor (yes, that is a humble brag).

Throughout my time running, training, or HYROX-ing, there's one brand I always turn to when I'm after quality, reliable footwear: On. It's a brand I frequently recommend to athletes of all skill levels who are looking for a great pair of trainers. So, I thought, why not break them down for you, dear reader?

How we tested

I work out 5-6 times a week so it's safe to say I put my trainers to the test. Over the course of various mid-long distance runs and hard workouts, these shoes were put through the ringer.

What is On?

Swiss performance sportswear label, On, has been around for over a decade. However, over the past few years, the brand has risen in popularity and created innovative, performance and race-ready kits from trainers to gear for the modern runner.

The verdict

On trainers are undoubtedly performance-driven and good quality, they also have a huge range of styles and silhouettes to suit any kind of runner or fitness lover - from long-distance road running to hiking and hitting the high street.

Although my top picks overall are the Cloudmonster, the Cloudsurfers are undeniably great too (especially for beginners/intermediate runners) and the X4 are the perfect beginner shoe for the everyday trainer.
