M&S' Giant Whippy Bar Is Driving Instagram WILD
M&S are known for their iconic sweet treats. Percy Pigs and Colin the Caterpillar are the classics we'll always have room for in our hearts, but it's a different product altogether that's gotten the internet into a frenzy this week.
A GIANT whippy bar (named Whip Off The Old Block) that looks like eight walnut whips sandwiched together has captured the attention of chocolate bar connoisseurs, and we can see why. It looks INSANE.
Made with milk chocolate, fluffy marshmallow and salted caramel sauce, it's basically a modern take on a walnut whip.
The bar forms part of M&S' Father's Day range. Confectionery Developer, Rhys Andrew Cook, asked his own dad about some of his favourite chocolatey treats:“when developing this year’s Father’s Day range, I thought who better to ask what they’d like as a gift than my own dad who fondly remembered that his dad, my grandad, used to bring delicious bars of chocolate filled with mallow home for him and his sister.
And it got me thinking: at M&S we have established a trend in recent years for our giant chocolate bars, including the iconic ‘Big Daddy’, and we are also famous for our much-loved mallow whips – from the original walnut variety to the runaway success of strawberry Kiss Whips for Valentine’s. So, why not combine the two and create a giant whippy bar?!”
It's safe to say the internet is very much obsessed with the new bar. A post on M&S' PR Instagram account has gained almost 12K likes and a whole load of excited comments from chocolate lovers: "oh my word!!!! You may have just made the best bar of chocolate ever!!!!!!"
