We loved watching Danny Dyer learn how to crochet

It's not something we expected to see, but we loved watching EastEnders actress Kellie Bright teach actor and presenter Danny Dyer how to crochet.

In a video shared on her Instagram, Kellie, who plays Linda Carter in the BBC soap, shows Danny how to crochet a basic granny square.

In the video, she sits with Danny and talks him through the materials needed – a 4mm crochet hook and yarn in two colours. She shows him how to wrap the yarn around his fingers and stitch the foundation chains and his first treble crochet stitches.

Alongside the video, Kellie wrote: "So this is when I (tried) to teach @officialdannydyer how to crochet a granny square! Bless him he didn’t have his bins with him and so it was a struggle to say the least!"

Kellie asked Danny to stitch a granny square to form part of a granny square blanket challenge with the charity Solving Kids' Cancer UK. The actress is working with the organisation to make a series of community granny square blankets.

She is asking crochet lovers to send in their granny squares which she will stitch together, along with squares made by her and her famous friends. Participants also have the chance to win one of the blankets. More information about the challenge can be found on the Solving Kids' Cancer UK website here.

Fans were quick to share how much they loved watching Kellie teach Danny how to crochet. @jemima05_ commented "Mick and Linda reunited!" and @donnaashworthwords commented "Absolute gold! I so want to learn this and make a square".

We can't wait to see who Kellie gets crocheting next!
