Love Island stars escape from villa and go on junk food run to McDonald's

Food is pretty a big deal in the Love Island villa - but for one Islander they couldn't wait to escape and go on a hunt for a McDonald's.

Former contestant Chris Taylor - who also shot to fame in the Barbie movie - revealed that on their 'days off' the boys and girls would separate, and the boys would be on the lookout for some junk food.

Chris, who first appeared on Love Island season five and later on the spin-off All Stars series this year, said: "They made us eat out of troughs like pigs [in the villa]! Nah, I’m only joking, it’s just pretty standard catering. It’s not bad. But there was a day off when the girls and boys separated and we got to go out and have a McDonald’s, which was pretty good."

But one thing's for sure, Chris certainly made his time outside of the villa worthwhile with his food order. He revealed: "My usual is a large Big Mac meal with a milkshake, five Chicken Selects, a double cheeseburger and six chicken nuggets.

"I also normally have a wrap and then I’ll have a fruit bag for balance," the 33 year old joked.

As for this year's series of Love Island though, Chris revealed he thinks it is "looking really good". He continued: "It’s early days, but it’s looking really good. The line-up is looking spicy and they threw in Joey Essex, which is kind of like a multiverse moment.

"I liked that they did something different during the first episode by coupling up the Islanders based on who was the most “boyfriend or girlfriend material” – it added more depth to it rather than being purely based on aesthetics."

Aside from tuning into watch every night, the TV personality is also a panellist on Aftersun and is recording the Love Island podcast this year - something he's always dreamed about.

However, in his true jokey fashion, Chris let slip that a few blunders could happen at any moment: "I’m excited but I think in the Aftersun studio I’ll be nervous because it’s live TV, which isn’t my best friend. I say things without thinking and the filter isn’t that strong!

"When they asked me, it was a bit of a no-brainer. Having done Love Island twice now, there’s a whole lot of useless knowledge in my head that I thought I might as well utilise."

Chris has partnered with McDonald’s for its new Surprize Fries promotion, where customers are in with a chance of winning millions of prizes until 2 July.
