Love Island bosses introduce shocking twist during Casa Amor game despite huge backlash

Love Island producers have thrown in a devious twist during the notorious Casa Amor segment, despite previous backlash and thousands of complaints to Ofcom accusing the show of "emotional cruelty".

In a dramatic episode on Tuesday (July 2), during a steamy game of Raunchy Races, the two villas went head-to-head in order to win a party. But nothing is ever easy as the game included challenges that led to some serious snogging with the new bombshells.

The tension then soared as Nicole Samuel was left heartbroken after discovering Ciaran Davies had kissed another girl, just moments after they'd exchanged those important words - I love you.

It appears the days are gone when Islanders were left in the dark about who might have locked lips with whom. This year, the producers decided to really stir the pot by texting the Islanders explicit details of what's really been going on at the rival villa.

Nicole, without any footage to see for herself, was visibly distressed, pondering over what else could have happened. It's now down to the couple to figure out whether they'll stick together or if they'll jump ship for a fresh bombshell.

Rewinding to 2018, the TV show received 4,000 complaints from disgruntled viewers after Dani Dyer was reduced to tears following the receipt of a "misleading" postcard, which insinuated her beau Jack Fincham was kissing another girl.

During that incident, the pair were separated into different villas, each infiltrated by tempting new singles to test the strength of their relationship, reports the Mirror.

However, following the complaints in 2018, producers scrapped the postcard idea and introduced Movie Night once the Islanders returned to the villa. This allowed them to sit down and watch footage of their antics.

Now, with the shocking twist making a return this year, Nicole is surely hoping they'll roll the tapes sooner rather than later.

Also in the game, the tallest boy was dared to kiss the girl he fancied the most. Casa found out the main Villa have won because Ayo Odukoya kissed Jess Spender, and Mimii Ngulube sadly admitted: “I feel sick.” When the boy with the most tattoos was asked to snog the girl he fancied, in Casa, newcomer Hugo Godfroy picked Jess White.
