Love Island's Amy Hart wears wedding dress that 'wasn't right' for big summer ceremony on red carpet

Love Island's Amy Hart stunned on the BAFTAs 2024 red carpet in a strapless ivory gown, that she revealed had been in the running to be her wedding dress.

The 30 year old star is due to marry her fiancé, Sam Rason, this summer, and she's been on the hunt for her dream wedding dress.

Speaking exclusively to OK! at the event on Sunday, 12 May, Amy explained how she ended up wearing the dress, which featured a low-cut neckline and hand painted flower detailing.

She said: "I tried it on as a wedding dress, but then I didn't think it was wedding-y enough but please can I have it for the BAFTAs.

"It's silk and has hand-painted flowers, I love it."

She went on to say: "Life is really good at the minute. I've got my little boy, got my fiancé - we're getting married this year."

Amy met 33-year-old tech entrepreneur Sam in 2021 and announced that the pair were expecting their first child in an episode of Loose Women in August 2022. Sam then got down on one knee in September last year and asked the former cabin crew member to marry him.

With a new series of Love Island fast approaching, Amy, who starred on the show in 2019, issued some advise to the new Islanders going into the villa this summer, saying: "Just enjoy it."

According to a show insider, the latest series is set to launch on 3 June, meaning it’s just under nine weeks until another batch of lovelorn contestants enter the villa in the hope of finding their perfect partner.

Speaking to The Sun, the source said: "Fans will be pleased as it's just nine weeks away – summer doesn't start until Love Island is back on TV.”

Traditionally, from the show’s third season onwards, it has always kicked off in the first week of June, with one notable exception being the 2021 series which began airing on 28 June, following a postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The latest series will also mark the second to have aired this year, following on from the success of the very first All Stars series back in January, which welcomed former contestants back to the villa for a second shot at finding love.
