Louise Thompson in septic shock after emergency surgery as fiancé Ryan says ‘I don’t know how much more she can take’
Louise Thompson's fiancé Ryan Libbey has revealed that the former Made in Chelsea star is currently in hospital recovering from septic shock after undergoing emergency surgery. Louise has documented her long health battle over the years, with the reality star being fitted with a lifesaving stoma bag back in April.
Now, Louise is facing another health setback after requiring an emergency operation for excruciating abdominal pain. Ryan tearfully revealed on the couple's podcast He Said, She Said on Tuesday: "Sadly Louise is not here this week. She had to go back into hospital almost two weeks ago for another emergency operation in the same tummy area that she's been recovering from since earlier this year with her stoma surgery.
"It was completely unexpected," he said, adding that despite trying to ride out the pain she was experiencing, she was rushed to A&E at 3:30am nine days ago. "I can't believe we're back in this situation. My heart beat is skipping around all over the place which is an indication of how heavy and raw it all feels....I don't know how much more she can take."

Ryan, who has been at Louise's bedside for the past nine days, continued: "It's completely broke me. Her recovery has been up and down. Post-surgery she was in septic shock, which shows the severity of how bad things got.
"She was heavily medicated with lots of cannulas and tubes coming out of her. To see that again, with her in intensive care, was extremely heartbreaking."
Posting a preview of the episode on Instagram, Ryan said that walking into the couple's recording room and seeing just one chair and microphone moved him to tears. "I had to leave the house for a few minutes to gather my emotions, so I ran down to the florist to get a bunch of flowers for the set of the podcast," he added. "I wanted to make every effort to get this right and to keep things consistent, I wanted to do the podcast justice and make Louise proud."
"So I sat down for another difficult conversation and opened up about the truth on where Louise has been for the last two weeks." Meanwhile, Louise posted a photo of their son Leo, three, from hospital, writing: "The fact that will keep me pacing in the right direction. I think you look like me here."
Louise has been through a difficult year in terms of her health, with problems beginning after the birth of her son Leo in 2021. The reality star went through a traumatic birth, which she described as "dancing with death", and was later diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. "My panic episodes can last hours or days and are totally unpredictable," she revealed in a post. "When I'm having one I can't function, I can't look after myself, let alone anyone else around me. I can't even spell my name. I can't see, I can't hear, I can't look anyone in the eye. They have got so bad that I have convinced myself that I'm going crazy. I feel depersonalisation, hyper paranoia as if I've taken a million and one drugs and I feel like I'm stuck in another realm. I am not myself."
