Lorraine Kelly has shared a throwback of her dad's hilarious lockdown haircut
Lorraine Kelly has shared a hilarious throwback photo on her Instagram account of a shocking haircut her mum gave her dad.
One year ago, during the first lockdown, Lorraine’s mum Anne attempted to give her husband John a chop. With salons closed, many were left in a similar position and attempted DIY styling from home, with mixed results.
Unfortunately, Anne’s attempt didn’t go quite to plan and John ended up with no hair around the lower part of his head and neck, aside from a few tufts. The join to the rest of his existing hair was also very uneven, with no graduation into the fuller locks on top.
Lorraine shared the photo with plenty of laughing emojis as she remembered the lighter moment from an otherwise turbulent lockdown period.
“Can we all pause for a moment and remember that on this day exactly a year ago my mum scalped my poor old dad - #worsthaircutever!” she wrote.
Recalling the moment she first saw the results of the at-home barbering attempt over the phone, Lorraine said she tried to reassure her dad by saying “’it wasn’t that bad’ but had to hang up the phone in tears with laughing!”
Many of Lorraine’s followers seemed to relate and saw the funny side to the incident.
“Poor dad, he definitely wasn’t alone!” wrote one commenter, while another admitted, “I did the very same to my husband but everybody found the video of me laughing tears rolling down my face more funny.”
