Jane Moore has revealed the expert anti-ageing tip she follows, and it might surprise you. Rather than skincare, diet or sleep — though those are of course important — Jane swears by a great haircut.

The Loose Women star shared her philosophy on Instagram, writing: "Years ago, when I asked a beauty expert for her best anti-ageing tip, she replied 'a great haircut.' So I have sought out great cutters ever since. After all, we spend money on make-up/clothes, so why not our hair?"

Jane looks for a low maintenance cut when she goes to he hairdressers every six weeks, saying: "I just want to 'brush and go', without the bother of having to blow dry or straighten it."

A lot of you ask about my hair and comment on how 'natural' it looks. Well let me tell you, there's little that's 'natural' about what you see on TV. Left to its own devices, my hair would be predominantly grey and, as per the photo on the left, if I just wash and leave it, it's a bit lacklustre and frizzy. Years ago, when I asked a beauty expert for her best anti-ageing tip, she replied "a great haircut" so I have sought out great cutters ever since. After all, we spend money on make-up/clothes, so why not our hair? Yesterday, I pitched up to @richardwardhair looking like the wild woman of Borneo and, as usual, said I wanted a hairdo that, between professional appointments every six weeks, was as low maintenance as possible. Basically, I just want to 'brush and go', without the bother of having to blow dry or straighten it. So colour expert @ryanhauxwell suggested that I opt for something called 'Memory Form.' I thought he was trying to sell me a mattress but turns out it's a product he brushed on to my hair and then 'ironed' in with straighteners. It's a bit like the Brazilian (the one for your hairdo not nether regions!) but less harsh. Apparently, it will tame the frizz for a few weeks. Then it was on to @nando.magusimoes who, just like Edward Scissorhands clipping those overgrown hedges, shaped it in to a clever ‘shake and go’ cut that just falls in to place. The photo on the right was taken after I'd slept on it and, as you can see, it still has shape, volume and zero frizz. Heaven. There are great cutters working in local salons all over the country and they'll know about Memory Form or similar products. So find one, listen to their advice on which style would best suit your face shape and, trust me, it will take years off you. Have a great weekend everyone! Have you changed your hair style recently? Have you gone from long to short? Or short to long? And if so, why? On this occasion, her stylists used a clever Memory Form treatment to de-frizz and hold style, and shaped Jane's locks into a 'shake and go' cut that falls into place.

And Jane was more than happy with the results, writing: "The photo on the right was taken after I'd slept on it and, as you can see, it still has shape, volume and zero frizz. Heaven."

She spoke in the post about finding great stylists and following their guidance on treatments and style, telling fans and followers the value of doing the same.

"There are great cutters working in local salons all over the country and they'll know about Memory Form or similar products. So find one, listen to their advice on which style would best suit your face shape and, trust me, it will take years off you," she said.
