Loose Women presenter warned 'not to touch' co-star when she joined show
Brenda Edwards has revealed she was told not to touch fellow co-star Janet Street-Porter when she first joined Loose Women. Brenda, who became a fan favourite after joining the panel in 2019, admitted to being starstruck when meeting will.i.am and Janet Street-Porter. "That was absolutely amazing," she said about her encounter with will.i.am.
She also expressed her admiration for Janet, saying: "I used to watch Loose Women before I became one, and I still do. I come from a family of strong women, including my grandma and my aunts, so Janet is a big icon in our household." Despite being warned not to touch Janet, Brenda was pleasantly surprised when Janet gave her a hug. In an interview with Woman's Own, Brenda dismissed rumours about quitting the show, stating that she 'won't be going anywhere'.
Besides being a panellist, Brenda is also a fashion designer, actress, singer, former accounts manager, and a director of a new theatre production. She revealed her joy of directing the musical about a TV dance drama set in 1960s Baltimore, where racism abounds. She explained at that moment: "The story, unfortunately, is so poignant to today," adding "We all do our other occupations so Loose Women isn't going anywhere. Shut that rumour mill down!"

Despite having some fans claim otherwise, Brenda gets along well with her co-stars- including Janet, Judi Love, and Coleen Nolan. She denied any ongoing conflicts amongst the group saying "I love all the Loose Women. There's this myth that goes on that we all hate each other and we're all fighting a war and that's not true."
She further opened up to say: "We are friends outside of the show. There are several of the ladies that I go for lunch with on a regular basis. I couldn't tell you who my favourites are, I love them all in different ways."
Brenda gained her fame from the 2005 series of X Factor, but unexpectedly stumbled upon TV presenting roles like hosting Songs of Praise. She previously opened up on the 'mum guilt' she felt from working while parenting two children.
"This is where the mother guilt comes in because from when Jamal and Tanisha were born I've always been working, permanently been working," Brenda explained. She added: "And for me it was Breakfast club because I had to be at work for nine o'clock so, I had to drop them off by eight o'clock at the Breakfast club, so I don't get to see anybody at the gates or wave goodbye or pick them up after school."
Brenda went on to discuss how listening to her co-stars chatting about their own parenting experiences had made her reflect. She said: "The mum guilt for me is real in that way. I wish I had some kind of competitive 'look at my hair today' or whatever but I feel very.... But when I listen to you guys that's something I wish I could get back with my kids."
