The first live show of Little Mix: The Search has been postponed after a number of production staff tested positive for coronavirus.

BBC bosses confirmed in a statement to The Mirror that “a small number of people” on the series’ production team have contracted the virus.

The statement read: "We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix: The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

“Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday's programme.”

It added: “There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount.”

The first live show of the series was scheduled to air on BBC One this weekend, however, in light of the recent news Little Mix: The Search is looking to a new date of 24 October instead.
