Just when you thought there couldn’t be any further reminders that Nineties and Noughties style is well and truly back (here's looking at you baggy jeans and bodycon vest dresses), Lily James only goes and confirms nostalgia is here to stay once again.

The Pam & Tommy star, 34, took to Instagram to share an image of her wearing a classic ‘bandage style’ dress from the early 2010s to her 3.3 million followers. The mint green, figure-hugging version left a cut-out at the midriff to show off the actress’ toned abs.

Set against a sunny background with blue skies, James wrote, “It was perfect weather for gloves. When I was in Milan in @herveleger x”, under the image. She teamed the summery coordinating set with a pair of nude heels, a solid V-shaped gold choker and, of course, matching over-the-elbow opera gloves.

The ‘bandage’ style bralette top features the recognisable stretchy fabric that hugs to the body, but features a small cutout detail beneath the bust for a contemporary twist on the designer classic.

Meanwhile, the mini style of the ‘90s and 00’s has been traded in for a calf-length pencil skirt in the same fabric, sitting just below the top, revealing a flash of midriff.

The super-fitted ‘bandage’ style, was popular amongst celebrities on the red carpet and even trickled down to copycat designs on the high street for those looking for inspiration.

But the original style was synonymous with designer brand Hervé Léger, and was co-opted by everyone from Cindy Crawford to Salma Hayek in the ‘90s, and Rihanna to Victoria Beckham in the ‘00s, and it looks like Lily James was inspired by the nostalgic style herself as she sported 2022 version: a mint green bandage co-ord by the same designer.
