It could be by a celebrity, influencer or even someone on your morning commute, the ‘who’ of it isn't important here. It's all about the ‘what’.
Case in point: Hailey Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter and Sophie Turner all wearing butter yellow, sure enough, a spring summer fashion trend rivalling red for colour of the season status. Or Mejuri, Abbott Lyon and Missoma all releasing domed drop studs similar to the Bottega Veneta earrings Kylie Jenner can't stop wearing. Get it?
So, when we saw Lila Moss, Olivia Neill *and* Ruby Lyn, AKA fashion's current fave It girls, all repping fringed floral dresses in Ibiza, you bet we made sure to take note and update our shopping wish lists accordingly.
The trio's dresses in question are part of the limited edition collaboration between Annie's Ibiza (the uber-cool vintage brand founded by Annie Doble and loved by the likes of Rita Ora and Kate Moss) and Conner Ives. The New York-based fashion designer used Annie's personal archive of vintage piano shawls that date back to 1890-1920 to create 13 hand-stitched, exclusive one-of-a-kind dresses.
Lila, Olivia and Ruby were amongst an elite guest list invited to celebrate the launch and model the dresses in the process. Naturally held in Ibiza, the designs were the perfect summer holiday dress and we're planning to recreate the look for ourselves ASAP. Regardless of the fact we currently have no plans to jet off anywhere exotic, though why should that stop us?
Luckily, the high street has come through with a selection of fringed dresses. While some feature similar vintage prints, others are more modern iterations with some block-coloured designs thrown in too for good measure. Shop our top picks now:
Sure, we'll still be reaching for our previously declared summer hero, the milkmaid dress for humid office days and weekend picnics in the park. But the fringed floral designs are imbued with a little more sexiness that's balanced with an easy boho vibe, making them ideal for date nights and black-tie wedding guest dresses alike.
