Rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black are reportedly on President Donald Trump's list of people to pardon before leaving office this month.

According to Bloomberg, Trump is considering pardoning Wayne, who recently pled guilty in federal district court for illegal possession of a weapon while traveling to Florida on a private plane in 2019.

Also on the list is Florida rapper Kodak Black, was sentenced to 46 months in prison on federal weapons charges.

If convicted, Wayne could serve up to 10 years in jail. The decision is set to be announced during a sentencing hearing on 28 January.

Wayne is a noted supporter of Trump's, having posed with him in a photo back in October. "Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done," he posted to Twitter at the time.

Black (born Dieuson Octave), meanwhile, admitted to lying on background-check forms while buying multiple weapons. Later, two of the firearms were found by police at crime scenes. One of the firearms had Black's fingerprints and a live round in the chamber. It had reportedly been used to fire at a "rival rap artist,” according to The New York Times.

The rappers are among a longer list of potential pardons, including family members, senior White House officials, and possibly even himself.

President Trump plans to announce the pardons on what is expected to be his final full day in office, 19 January.
