Lesbians share their favourite things about women
There's no one-size-fits-all experience of being a lesbian, an identity which can include a range of gender experiences. Many lesbians are, however, pretty open about the fact that they're attracted to, fancy, and love women (sometimes in addition to other genders). And that's all women, be it queer women, trans women, older women, women of colour, disabled women and women of a range of body types – after all, there's also no one "correct" mould for womanhood.
Here, to coincide with International Women's Day, lesbians of Reddit share all the things they love about women.
1. "When they kinda-but-not-really hide a big smile halfway behind their hand. When they give you that look where you know you have their full, undivided attention." [via]
2. "It’s like, so calming to hear their voice talking about how their day was and, more when something good happens to her, it’s like, hearing her euphoria talking, and, it melts my heart." [via]
3. "Their tenderness and how safe they make me feel." [via]
4. "When they excitedly share about their obsessions and their face just lights up and their passion shines thru their eyes." [via]
5. "When they’re loving to their pets. Singing. Laughing. Smiling. Their change in facial expression when they get competitive. Their shoulders, especially when they’re pulling hair into a ponytail." [via]
6. "When they laugh so hard that no sound comes out or they wheeze, love seeing them so happy." [via]
7. "I just, really love women because I feel comfortable around them, and I feel safe with them." [via]
8. "For me, it’s their kindness, most of the girls that I have talked to, as friends and as a gf, they always speak with gentleness, kindness and warmth." [via]
9. "Honestly? How women are so fucking strong from the moment they were born." [via]
10. "They’re so fucking beautiful and they smell nice. They’re softer and they’re so much better at being a thoughtful S.O." [via]
11. "The intimacy, more than anything. To hold someone and it doesn’t have to turn into sex is one of my biggest fantasies." [via]
12. "I love how dog-loving women react to seeing ANY dog. They just go from zero to melting in two seconds flat, no fucks given." [via]
13. "Just how wonderful, interesting, and kind all the women I’ve known are. When I first started transitioning, the WLW community around me was nothing but lovely, supportive, and encouraging, and it was just so refreshing and lovely to have that kind of support." [via]
14. "When they're really competent at something. It could be anything, really. But watching a girl totally crush a video game level, or expertly apply first aid, or deliver a hilarious joke just really does it for me." [via]
15. "I love the way many women think: compassion, emotional openness, vulnerability, collaboration, and joyful exuberance." [via]
