Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend Camila Morrone wore an actual wedding dress to the Oscars
Clearly Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend Camila Morrone isn’t bothered about superstition, considering she wore an actual wedding dress to the Oscars on Sunday night, albeit a re-imagined one.
The model and actress, 22, made her Oscars debut in a Carolina Herrera bridal dress that had been re-purposed for the red carpet.
Morrone’s stylist Micah Schifman had originally looked to Princess Grace for the style inspiration and when he’d spotted the dress from the Herrera’s bridal collection, he believed a few changes could make it the perfect Oscar frock for his client.

“We reached out and said ‘Hey, we love this gown… but we don’t need it for a wedding. If we could kind of shift it around, make some changes… And Wes [Gordon, the brand’s creative director], was super into it,” Schifman told InStyle ahead of the awards show on Sunday night.
“So, we started with that silhouette and built the look around that.”
The flowing strapless dress, which featured a corset bodice, was originally a white wedding dress from the label’s bridal collection, but Schifman wanted to make it less wedding-y.
“We changed the colour — it’s obviously not white, it’s more of a blush — and there’s exposed boning that you see through the lace that makes it a little more modern and not read super princess-y,” he said.

To compliment her fairytale look, the stylist opted to team the stunning gown with Tiffany & Co diamonds.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend, who was nominated for Best Actor, looked groom-worthy in a dark navy Giorgio Armani tuxedo.
Morrone isn’t the only celebrity to have channelled their inner bride for the red carpet. Back in 2017 Jennifer Lawrence wore a white semi-sheer L. Wells Bridal gown to the premiere of Faces Places.
And Beyoncé once turned to bridalwear for red carpet inspo, rocking up to the 58th Grammys in a lace wedding dress by Inbal Dror in 2016.
Keira Knightley raised a few eyebrows after she was spotted getting married in a Chanel dress she'd already worn on the red carpet at a charity gala back in 2013.
Donning bridalwear for non-wedding events was also given the stamp of approval by style queen Sarah Jessica Parker, who wore a show-stopping bridal gown by Vera Wang to the 2017 Golden Globes.
