Always one to deliver the drama, Lady Gaga attended the London premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux last night in a custom Celine by Hedi Slimane fire-engine red two piece ensemble complete with Tiffany & Co. jewellery. Gaga goes the extra mile by channeling the devil-may-care spirit of her on-screen Harley Quinn persona by trading her glossy old-Hollywood platinum blonde hair for a choppy, Cola red Harley Quinn bob hairstyle and eyebrow-grazing fringe.
Gaga's new 'do is most likely an impeccable hairpiece by the wig designer Frederic Aspiras. With its textured finish and exaggerated lines, the wig perfectly juxtaposes her floor-length Celine gown. Longtime make-up collaborator Sarah Tanno leaned into the Harley Quinn vibe with a pale complexion, audacious turquoise eyeshadow and bleached eyebrows. A sparkling tear stain and red lips completed the showstopping beauty moment. On the same evening, Gaga switched up her hair for an eighties-inspired mullet with a shaggy fringe.
From Gigi Hadid's razor bob to Camila Cabello's 'Birkin' interpretation, bobs are truly having a breakout year. It's only natural that when Gaga embraces the trend, she makes it completely her own with a fully transformative look that makes the style chameleon almost unrecognisable on the red carpet. It's not for the faint of heart, so if you are considering this dramatic change, a good wig is a great option before taking the plunge.
Gaga's autumnal red tone is another huge trend this year (Pinterest saw a 520% uptick in searches for 'cherry cola red' hair in August). It works especially well for brunettes who are looking for an impactful change without requiring excessive hair lightening.
We'll be saving this look for our Halloween mood boards come October.
