Lady Gaga pays sartorial tribute to Judy Garland at 2019 Golden Globe Awards
There was only really one winner at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards last night, as Lady Gaga stole the sartorial trophy in one of her most impressive looks to date.
The singer-turned-actress – who took home the prestigious accolade for best original song – proved a star was born on the red carpet in a seriously show-stopping gown.
Plucked from the AW18 Valentino haute couture line, the voluminous cold-shoulder dress soon graced the headlines courtesy of its impressive train and billowing shawl.
But she didn’t merely enlist the help of designer Pierpaolo Piccioli to bag style points, as the look paid homage to Judy Garland – who famously starred in the 1954 version of ‘A Star is Born’.

Bringing a new Hollywood twist to the gown, the singer also chose to showcase her plethora of tattoos – something she has opted against at previous awards shows.
For instance, when Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe for best actress back in 2016, she chose to conceal her tattoos with make-up.
Not one to risk looking underdressed last night, the 32-year-old also tinted her hair a similar shade of lavender to accompany the ensemble.
In a final bid to ensure that her stage appearance was memorable, Lady Gaga chose the Tiffany Aurora necklace to accessorise the ensemble which boasts a grand total of 300 diamonds.
