L’Oréal USA’s leadership reshuffling continues.

Favre most recently served as the head of the division for Latin America, and is now taking on duties for all of North America. He succeeds Christina Fair, who took the same role at the consumer products division following the departure of Nathalie Gerschtein.

Favre started his career in France on L’Oréal Paris’ marketing team in 2005.

“Damien Favre’s impressive track record of driving growth, building brands, navigating complex market dynamics and fostering a culture of high performance make him ideally positioned to lead L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty in North America as the division continues to evolve,” said David Greenberg, chief executive officer of L’Oréal USA and president of North America, in a statement.

“Damien’s dedication to driving innovation will undoubtedly fuel the division to continue to deliver dermatological solutions that consumers need,” Greenberg’s statement continued.

The move also comes on the heels of the retirement of Carol Hamilton, who was the president of U.S. acquisitions. Ali Goldstein, the-then U.S. president of L’Oréal Paris, was named her successor on Feb. 13.

The company is seeing sales decelerate in North America, as reported. For its most recent quarter, sales in the geography rose 1.4 percent.

In the U.S., the mass market remains challenged industry-wide, particularly in makeup, where brands like Maybelline New York and L’Oréal Paris are key players. The category dipped 3 percent in the channel in 2024, per Circana data.
