Kristen Stewart Took Off Her Heels on the Cannes Red Carpet to Rebel Against *This* Controversial Rule

Kristen Stewart breaking protocol at the Cannes Film Festival will make you say “same.”

Yesterday, the Twilight actress attended the premiere of Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman at the annual festival. After posing for pictures on the red carpet, Stewart made a statement when she (gasp!) removed her black Christian Louboutin heels and carried them up the stairs barefoot.

You see, the Cannes Film Festival has a strict no-flats policy, which means any female who shows up without heels will likely get turned away. So, although we don’t blame her for needing a stiletto break, we have a feeling the act was far more meaningful than “my feet hurt.”

Nevertheless, Stewart isn’t the first celeb to rebel against the controversial rule. In fact, Julia Roberts sent a message to the Cannes committee when she ditched her high heels during the premiere of Money Monster in 2016.

Bold move, ladies. Bold move.
