Katie Hopkins is at it again. The controversial columnist has lashed out at women who breastfeed in public – saying she’s “sick” of being told that breast is best.

Breastfeeding in public has become more of a hot topic than ever in the last few years. It all started when swanky London hotel Claridges asked a mum nursing her baby in their restaurant to cover up – which led to a mass ‘nurse-in’ outside the hotel last year.

Then, Princess Michael of Kent caused a bit of scandal by calling breastfeeding a “dreadful practice”.

Meanwhile, in a surprisingly liberal move, the Pope announced he approved of women breastfeeding in the Sistene Chapel.

Celebrities have been weighing in the debate, too. The likes of Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes and Tamara Eccelestone have helped “normalise” breastfeeding by posting breastfeeding selfies (dubbed “brelfies”) on their social media accounts, while women worldwide have been voicing their thoughts on the matter, too.

And now Hopkins, who’s not afraid of rocking the boat, has tackled the sensitive topic – in a non-sensitive way, as per.

Sparking controversy by labeling breastfeeding mums the “mammary mafia” during Thursday’s episode of her TV chat show, the 40-year-old said she’s “sick of them out and about draping their norks all over the place in Costa Coffee.”

“I’m sick of hearing ‘breast is best’ because you know what, it just rhymes and so does speedo with paedo and that doesn’t make speedos right either,” the columnist said during “If Kate Hopkins Ruled The World”.

Needless to say, the chat show host’s comments received a fair amount of backlash on social media.

This isn’t the first time that Hopkins has riled up parents with her anti-breastfeeding-in-public stance. When the Claridges protest was ongoing, Hopkins tweeted her support for the hotel, writing, “Free to feed protest tomorrow. Expect the mammary militia out in force. Stand firm @ClaridgesHotel. Their sort shouldn’t be free to breed,“ she wrote.

“Women have the right to breast feed. But they don’t have the right to put everyone else off having milk in their tea. Put it away girls.”

And the former “The Apprentice” star slammed Tamara Ecclestone for posting photos of herself breastfeeding her daughter on holiday online. "Why do breastfeeders have to do it in coffee shops? You can smell the breast milk mixed in with your latte,” she wrote in her Closer magazine column. “And why do they post snaps online, like Tamara - what a doughnut.”
